Delhi Expands Air Pollution Monitoring Network With New Stations
Delhi has taken another step in its ongoing battle against air pollution by adding six new Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated these stations on Monday, highlighting that air pollution is not just a winter problem but a year-round challenge that requires constant attention.
Although the stations have officially been launched, they are currently undergoing calibration. Officials expect real-time air quality data from these stations to be available publicly within the next week.
With these additions, Delhi now has a total of 46 air quality monitoring stations, making it the city with the highest number of such stations in India.

Along with the inauguration of the monitoring stations, the Delhi government launched the Vayu Rakshak initiative aimed at strengthening pollution control efforts on the ground.
Under this program, 100 dedicated vehicles have been deployed specifically for pollution control activities.
The initiative also includes a large team of personnel tasked with monitoring pollution sources and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

As part of the Vayu Rakshak initiative:
- 100 personnel are working closely with pollution control authorities for on-ground action
